How to buy USDT on OKX P2P, step by step
On OKX P2P you pay a seller in your local currency by bank transfer or mobile wallet, and the seller releases USDT to you once the money arrives. OKX holds the seller’s USDT until the order is complete. OKX P2P works in many countries where Binance P2P does not, including Nigeria. Here is the whole process on a phone, with real screenshots.

Step 1: Create an OKX account
The button below opens the OKX sign-up page with the referral code already applied, so there is no code box to fill in. Scroll down, choose the country you live in, tick the box and tap Next. Then enter your email or phone number, type the code OKX sends you and set a password.

If you sign up inside the OKX app instead, enter the referral code BTC6988 by hand when the app asks for it.
Step 2: Verify your identity
OKX asks for identity verification before you can buy on P2P. In your profile, open Verification and follow the prompts: a photo of your ID (national ID, passport or driver’s licence) and a short face check. It usually takes minutes.
Step 3: Open P2P and set your filters
In the app, tap Buy crypto, then P2P trading. On the website, open the P2P page and choose your currency. Set three things before you look at the list:

- Choose Buy and check the coin is USDT.
- Enter how much you want to spend. Without an amount, the list includes sellers whose limits do not fit your order.
- Pick your payment method, such as bank transfer, OPay, Easypaisa or UPI, so you only see sellers who accept it.
Step 4: Pick a reliable seller
Each ad shows the price, the seller’s completed transactions, completion rate, available USDT, order limit and payment methods. Check them in this order:
- Track record: prefer sellers with hundreds or thousands of transactions and a completion rate around 98% or higher. A crown next to the name marks a verified merchant.
- Order limit: your amount must sit inside the limit.
- Price last: among reliable sellers, take the cheaper one. In the screenshot the first seller has 156 transactions; the next one asks only 0.25 NGN more per USDT but has 1,189 transactions and a verified badge.
To compare OKX with Bybit, Binance and other platforms in one list, use the P2P seller finder: enter your amount and payment method and it shows the cheapest sellers who accept it right now.
Step 5: Place the order and pay
Tap Buy on the ad, enter the amount and confirm. The order page shows the seller’s payment details and a countdown, usually 15 to 30 minutes.
- Pay from your own account, in your own name, to the exact details on the order page, for the exact amount.
- Only add a payment note if the order page or the seller asks for one.
- Go back to the order and confirm you have paid. Never confirm before paying, and never cancel an order after paying.
Step 6: Wait for the seller to release
When the seller sees your payment, they release the USDT and the order shows Completed. Most orders finish within minutes. If the countdown ends and nothing happens, tap Appeal and upload your payment proof.
Step 7: Where your USDT goes
USDT bought on P2P lands in your Funding account. To trade it on OKX, transfer it to your Trading account. To send it to your own wallet, use Withdraw and choose the network carefully (for example TRC20 or ERC20). The network must match the receiving address, or the funds may be lost.

How to avoid P2P scams
- Skip prices that look too good. USDT far below the market often comes with problem money, and accounts that receive it are more likely to be frozen.
- Pay only from your own account. Never pay for someone else or use a borrowed account.
- Watch for fake payment alerts if you ever sell. Always check your bank app for the money before releasing USDT; SMS and screenshots can be faked.
- Keep everything inside the order. Chat, receipts and proof stay in the order so an appeal has evidence.
- Ignore “support” outside the app. OKX support only handles orders inside the app or website and never asks you to send money to unlock anything.
Common questions
Does OKX charge a fee for P2P?
OKX does not charge a trading fee on P2P. You pay the seller’s price times the amount. Your bank or mobile wallet may charge its own transfer fee.
Can I buy USDT with Naira on OKX?
Yes. OKX P2P has Naira sellers who accept bank transfer and wallets such as OPay. Binance P2P does not list Naira, so OKX and Bybit are the usual choices in Nigeria.
What is the minimum amount?
Each seller sets an order limit. Some start from about a thousand Naira or a few hundred Rupees, others only take large orders. Type your amount in the amount box and only sellers who accept it stay in the list.
What if the seller does not release my USDT?
Message the seller in the order chat first. If the time runs out and nothing happens, tap Appeal on the order and upload your payment proof. OKX support will step in. Never cancel an order you have already paid.
Why is the OKX P2P price higher than the bank rate?
P2P sellers set their own prices based on local demand for dollars, so 1 USDT often costs more than 1 dollar at the official rate. This site tracks that gap every 2 minutes.
